Tried and tested: Fall lip colours
Too Faced La Creme Sugar Daddy - 4/5
For autumn I tend to switch up my bright lip shades in favour of more muted tones. This brownish, pink colour from Too Faced is the perfect choice, and leaves a subtle finish that can be worn day or night. As the name suggests, it’s quite creamy which is great as it doesn’t leave any dry, flaky patches like a matte lippy would. It can sometimes bleed over the edges of my lips, so it’s advisable to apply a similar coloured lip liner before painting your pout.
MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Firecracker - 3/5
The deep plum shade of this lip lacquer is right on trend and is perfect for the transition between fall and winter. This richly pigmented product gives a velvet effect on the pout, with the long-lasting formula being very smudge proof. But the only down side was that it is quite drying, so be sure to add a layer of lip balm underneath.
Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss in Harvest Time - 5/5
There’s something about this rosy-bronze that reminds of falling leaves and autumn days.
This lip gloss has a rich, slightly pearlised effect with high impact shine, and a formula which includes soothing sunflower oil and nourishing beeswax. Perfect for adding a little subtle sparkle to your pout!
Kat Von D Studded Kiss in Wolvesmouth - 4/5
This deep plum shade is the perfect colour for fall and it works beautifully against my fair complexion. I love the embossed initials on the lipstick itself and the slightly sparkling finish, which makes it a great option for the evening rather than during the day. It glides on easily and lasts a while; I just had to make sure I blotted enough to avoid any colour on my teeth! Lastly the studded case is super cute, reflecting Kat’s edgy personality perfectly.
