Tried and tested: eyeliner

Some ladies favour a graphic line on their eyes, while for others the feline flick will never go out of style. So whether your liner is fun or flirty, and done in gel or liquid, we’ve found the top eyeliners doing the rounds this week.

Benefit they're real! push-up eyeliner - 4/5

If you struggle with pencil or liquid liner, this gel pen option is perfect for you. It's smooth, neat and doesn't smudge easily like the other two, and you can create a great cat eye with it. The only downside is that it's sometimes hard to push up the right amount of gel and you can be left with a little too much, making it tricky to put on, but other than that this is definitely a make-up bag must have.

Rimmel London Exaggerate Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner - 4/5

I've tried a lot of liquid eyeliners in my time, and this ranks up there with my favourites. With a highly-pigmented liquid formula, this eyeliner delivers a bold look, while the maximum control applicator helps in creating a smooth and precise line around the eye. The brushes fine tip is perfect for drawing neat lines, wings or flicks. It doesn't budge all day, easily staying put for 16 hours, but washes away easily with make-up remover or the swipe of a baby wipe.

Illamasqua Precision Gel Liner – 4/5

I’ve never been one to use a brush and pot to get my flick on fleek, but after seeing someone put this Illamasqua beauty on I decided to give it a try. It’s actually much easier than I thought, and I was able to create a perfect feline look without too much fuss. The black colour is bold and stayed for hours. I’m a convert!
