Tried and tested bronzers

Looking like a golden goddess never goes out of fashion, and there’s no easier way to cheat a glow then with a few sweeps of bronzer. We’ve hunted around to see what’s on offer in the bronzer department this week.

Benefit Hoola with Hoola Bronzing & Contouring Brush - 5/5

Hoola is one of Benefit’s most famous offerings, and with good reason. This bronzer stays put all day and doesn’t give off an Oompa Loompa vibe. The beauty giant has recently added to the Hoola line, with an all over Zero Tanlines bronzer and a Soft-Matte Liquid Bronzer for Face. The Hoola Bronzing & Contouring Brush is also new, and I used this to apply the bronzer. The plush, domed brush effectively picked up the powder’s matt particles and then evenly distributed them across my face. Another winner for Benefit!

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Powder Bronzer - 4/5

It’s an endless summer with this luxurious bronzer, which has a unique oil-free powder. The Bronze Goddess formula strikes a nice balance between having a gold-hued shimmer which isn’t too pearlescent or shiny and gives more of a glow rather than a highlighted look. It also works well to set foundation or BB creams. As well as the face, this bronzer is subtle enough to be swept across shoulders and décolletage for a sun-kissed look any time of year.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle - 5/5

I only tend to use bronzers when I'm on holiday as I avoid catching the sun on my face, but after trying this one by MAC I think it's going to be a regular. It's enough to wear during the day and gives a subtle glow to my fair complexion. I love the peachy tones and it blends on really easily, so I wasn't left with a patchy finish.

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer - 4/5

The matte finish gives a natural look, even if this product does have a chocolatey scent to it. Not only is it named after the sweet treat but your cheeks will smell delicious after applying this bronzer, as I quickly found out after applying. It lasts a while and doesn't require touching up regularly, though the odour did prove to be a bit sickly. I think this is going to be make-up for a special occasion.
