T&T: Suncare

If there's one thing you can't afford to miss off your holiday checklist, it's sunscreen! Picking the product with the right SPF for you is important, as is making sure you're covered for both UVA and UVB rays. We've tried out some of the best suncare products out there and given you our verdict to make your holiday shopping that little bit easier.

Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield SPF 30 - 5/5

When I'm on holiday, I like my skincare to be as effortless as possible. So to have a product that smoothes and perfects and also offers an SPF of 30 is a dream in a bottle! I've often come back from a week away with a red nose and forehead but after using this religiously, my skin simply had a light tan (no peeling!). I love the way it glides on and it feels moisturising, too.

Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Body Butter Exotic Coconut - 4/5

There's no better summer smell than coconut and this product is packed full of the scent. It's a silky butter which leaves skin feeling nourished and cooled; the perfect sensation for after you've been out in the sun all day. I applied after having a shower, and my skin felt just as smooth in the morning as it did the night before. A great after-sun product!

Clarins Sun Care Radiant Oil Spray High Protection UVB/UVA 30 - 5/5

Spending that little bit extra on sun protection turns out to be so worth it! Clarins may not be the cheapest option, but I'm a complete convert. The spray isn't sticky and leaves no residue, while the oils smell gorgeous and moisturise the skin. You can also use it on your hair to minimise any damaging effects from the sun - a great all rounder.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL SPF50+ Cream – 5/5

This is a facial sunscreen developed especially for people with sensitive skin, which is why it has a high factor. I have pale skin, which has been reactive over the last few months and burns easily – but not with this on. It’s guarded me against all sun damage, even when on holiday in 40®+ temperatures. I also like it because although it rubs in really quickly and doesn’t leave that horrible whiteness some creams do, it’s very moisturising. My skin is dry but when I use this I don’t need moisturiser, which is fantastic, as it stops me having to layer on too many products. For me, it’s a must-have.

Piz Buin Instant Glow SPF 30 - 5/5

Sun protection and a sun-kissed shimmer all in one; what's not to love? Realising that us ladies (and gents!) want to look glowing before we've even hit the beach, Piz Buin has created a sun cream that also works as a skin illuminator. It's not quite fake tan, but it does give skin a nice glow. Like all Piz Buin products safety comes first, and this kept my skin shielded from the sun's harmful rays. I'm particularly sun sensitive at the moment due to medication, but this kept the red at bay perfectly. The can design of the spray also helps it get to hard-to-reach places, which can be a problem with other bottles.
