Star Wars gets the Pat McGrath treatment

In a galaxy far, far away, a new beauty trend is about to take over. Yes with the imminent release of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (hitting cinemas 17 December 2015), make-up mega star Pat McGrath has decided to embrace the space age look. Pat, who's the Global Creative Director at P&G, and Max Factor launched a limited edition three-piece collection last month (Nov15), made up of False Lash Effect Star Wars Mascara (£10.99), and Star Wars Colour Elixir Lipsticks in Gold and Berry.

"I watched my first (Star Wars) film as a young girl and, like the rest of the world, was completely blown away," Pat said. "I immediately fell in love with the storyline, the never-before-seen special effects, and the amazing hair, make-up, and wardrobe of Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Hans Solo, Darth Vader, and all of the other characters. I've watched all of the films and I've been waiting for years for The Force Awakens."

If you weren't lucky enough to bag any of the make-up, fear not as Pat has created six looks that perfectly encapsulate the light and dark side of the Star Wars saga – all based on different aspects of the movies.

For the Light Side Look, think glowing golds, ethereal beauty and luminous skin.

"Droid was inspired by C-3PO and I wanted her to look beautiful, with strong gold eyes and gold lips," Pat said of the golden look.

The Jedi look incorporates glowing skin with striking bronze eyes while Mystic uses dreamy pink lips teamed with shimmery green lids and a line of purple eyeshadow under the eye.

For the dark side, Stormtrooper leads the pack.

"Stormtrooper is a soldier, so this make-up look is intercut with a graphic eye," Pat explained. "The look is structured with a very dark berry lip. Metallics are popular again this season and fit perfectly with the film. Take some risks and have fun with a gold or silver lip look!"

For the Chrome Captain look create steely lips and dramatic eyes, where as the sultry Dark Apprentice trend is all about fierce eyes and intense red lips for a femme fatale vibe.
