Quench your body’s thirsty skin
We’ve put away the skin-baring summer frocks, and started cosying down for winter in woollens. However, seasonal changes can affect the texture and tone of your skin more than you might expect.
Dryness is a leading skin complaint, with over 40 per cent of visits to dermatologists relating to dry skin. Symptoms often worsen during winter and when body skin becomes very dry it may feel tight, scaly, flaky, very itchy and painful and, at the extreme end of the scale, extremely rough and cracked. So skipping a daily application of moisturiser just isn’t an option if you want to keep your skin feeling soft and supple.
Sonja Dymalovski, skincare expert at What Skin Needs tells Cover Media: “When looking for topical creams and balms make sure you look for organic formulas that are designed to reduce irritation and have properties that can repair the skin.
“In the colder months I would use a balm like What Skin Needs Skin Balm that contains natural oils that have anti-inflammatory properties like plantolin, aloe vera and tea tree oil.”
Tempting as it may be, it’s also best to avoid long hot baths and showers, and the skincare expert also advises regular exfoliation before applying your body cream.

The velvety smooth lotion is ideal for all skin types, and is paraben free.
