National Fragrance Day treats

National Fragrance Day treats

With both Christmas and Valentine’s Day been and gone, how’s a girl meant to get her hands on a new bottle of perfume? Well ladies rejoice; Monday 21 March is National Fragrance Day, the perfect time to treat yourself to a scentsational treat.

Whether it’s a heady gold experience you’re after or a fresher scent this season, the world’s best perfumers have got it covered.

Ghost GirlCrush

Following on from the launch of Ghost Girl in 2015, the fragrance house has carried on its exploration of a younger market. GirlCrush is fruity and feminine, yet has a touch of maturity thanks to its inclusion of velvet rose, musk and cedarwood. Pomegranate, peach, raspberry and vanilla also feature, making it the perfect blend for the warmer weather.

Bulgari Goldea

If you’re after a little more luxury, then look no further. Bulgari’s latest offering is brimming with glamour, intended to be an ode to the fine jewellery brand’s past styles. In the most basic terms this is a floral-oriental scent, with notes of crystal musk, orange blossom, bergamot and raspberry. The amber blend and golden patchouli gives it a real kiss of gold, with the fragrance encased in a beautiful bottle that should sit pride of place on your dressing table.

Diptyque Eau des Sens

Another brand to use orange blossom, though Diptyque has created its new smell for both women and men. The unisex fragrance is light and fresh, making it an ideal scent for spring. The addition of bitter orange gives the whole thing an edge too, meaning there’s more to this than first meets the eye.

DKNY Be Delicious Electric

Yet another addition to DKNY’s uber popular Be Delicious range. This time the American fashion house has created three new versions - Loving Glow, a girly mix of blackcurrant, purple violet and apricot; Bright Crush, which opens with notes of dew fruit before tumbling into frangipani and peony, and a base of amber and vanilla; and Citrus Pulse, a fresh punch of citrus fruits mixed with magnolia, musk and sandalwood.
