Lip kits for the bombshell look
Lips have become the focus of the face and Kylie Jenner’s lip kits (and her plumped up pout) have dominated beauty chatter this year.
Glitter is one of the biggest trends to come out of Couture Fashion Week 2016, as seen on Jean Paul Gaultier, Pierre Cardin and Schiaparelli’s catwalks. And beauty fans are buzzing over the news that A-list make-up artist, Pat McGrath, is bringing glitter to the masses with her new lip kit.
Pat McGrath Labs’ Lust 004 is a line of glitter lip looks which consist of an uber-pigmented, matte lipstick topped with ultrafine glitter. The kits, which will go on sale in September, are available in three shades, Version Flesh (nude), Version Vermillion Venom (red) and Version Bloodwine (purple and deep red), with each kit made up of with two matte lipsticks, a clear, high-shine lip gloss, saturated gold pigment and a glitter pot.
If you want to try the trend but don’t fancy splurging, a lip kit of palette is a good option too.
Kate Moss’s favoured make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury has several lipstick palettes to suit your mood. If you’re looking for the wow factor, her The Bombshell Lip Kit provides everything you need to recreate that Jessica Rabbit look. A moisturising lipstick, lip liner and Red Vixen gloss will give you the hot lips you desire all in one package.
While Seventeen’s All Out Pout Lip Palettes is a collection of six rich satin, gloss and glitter shades complete with applicator, mirror and a handy get the look guide.
The palette is a collection of warm nudes, vivid orange, intense reds and lustrous metallic shades which you can mix together for truly individual shades.
For high wattage, and vibrantly pigmented lips, MAC’s Pro Lip Palette/6 Preferred Pinks is a mix of the brand’s most popular lipstick shades, including Show Orchid, a vivid hot pink Violetta, a stunning clean violet purple, the gorgeous pink laced with gold Creme De La Femme and Pretty Please, a pink pearlescent shade among others.
Meanwhile, look out for Urban Decay’s Vice Lipstick Palette. The brand recently teased two different palettes, each containing a dozen shades of pristine lipstick on its Instagram account. One appears to feature more pinks and flesh tones, while the other contains more intense colours like forest green, purple, and orange.
How to create the perfect lips
For best results apply using a lip brush and lip liner. For longer lasting colour, blot your lips after application and then apply a second layer of lipstick - this gives the colour more staying power!
To make lips appear fuller, dab your favourite clear gloss in the centre of your top and bottom lips.
Apply a second contrasting colour on top of your lipstick from the centre outwards for an ombre effect lip look. With metallics and glitters a big trend, try a metallic/glitter lipstick on top of your chosen colour.
