Ice queen beauty
Let's be honest - even adults are obsessed with Disney's Frozen and harbour a secret desire to look like ice queen Elsa. You might draw the line at belting out Let It Go, but we bet you'll be on board with trying some of these icy cool looks over the festive season.
The ice queen look is ALL about the eyes. Stick to cool shades like silver, white and frosty blue, particularly ones with a little shimmer to them. We like the collection from Artistry, available via Amway, with the 4 pan eye shadow palette including shades Glacier, Eclipse, Starry Night and Capri - as magical as they sound!
Start by applying a primer to your lids, then blend two of your favourite frosty colours - a matte looks particularly good as a base, with an iridescent shade on top.
Rather than using a black eyeliner on your water line, try a white or silver. This opens up your eye far more and will add to the wintry feel. Finish off with lashings of black mascara.
If you want to go full ice queen, it's time to get savvy with strobing. A little like highlighting, this make-up trend is all about making the most of your favourite features. It's best achieved via liquid and cream powder, creating a glowing effect on cheekbones, browbones and any other areas you want to emphasise. Benefit's Girl Meet Pearl highlighter works perfectly for this.
Go easy on the powder when creating your base, as you want the look to be dewy and mysteriously shimmery. You can mattify any areas that really need it if you suffer from oily skin, but avoid covering your whole face.
If you're feeling really brave, why not try a lipstick with a blue-ish tint? Rihanna and Jourdan Dunn have rocked this look in the past and you can get inspired with versions from brand including NYX and MAC. This look works best on olive or black skin.
If you have pale skin, try a pearlescent pink. This still gives that touch of frost but won't wash out your complexion.
