Get your five a day with these fruity skincare products

Everyone knows that it’s recommended we eat at least five fruit and vegetables every day.

And as good as fruits are for your insides, they can also work wonders on your skin too. We run through our favourite products for giving you flawless skin thanks to their seasonal fruit ingredients.

Pomegranate

This fruit isn’t the easiest to prepare, but is a fantastic source of fibre, and is packed full of vitamins A, C and E, iron and other antioxidant. Well aware of the benefits of this super food, natural skincare company Weleda based an entire range on the seeded fruit, with the collection hugely popular with fans. Their Pomegranate Firming Day Cream is a favourite, with organic pomegranate oil blended with golden millet, argan and macadamia oils to create a light cream which nourishes and regenerates the skin – perfect for all skin types but particularly for those looking for an effective anti-ageing skincare regime. It works extremely well alongside their Pomegranate Firming Serum – an elixir recommended for skin beyond the age of 40. In a light gel form, the serum boosts moisture in the skin while the pomegranate juice acts to firm the complexion, reducing wrinkles and the appearance of fine lines.

Another fantastic day cream is the Sukin Rose Hip Hydrating Day Cream. This also includes pomegranate extract, which helps to increase circulation and cell renewal, leaving your skin soft, smooth and flawless.

Passion fruit

If your life needs some more passion (fruit) in it – then look no further than Formula 10.0.6’s Best Face Forward Cleanser. This gorgeous product contains passion fruit peel to help give you a flawless complexion and manage oil production as well. As an added bonus, it smells delicious!

For those keen on anti-ageing products, REN’s Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask is a great option. This paraben-free, exfoliating mask tones and firms skin thanks to its natural fruit acids, including citric, passion fruit, grape and pineapple, which work to loosen dead cells and unblock pores. Or give Odacite Dull Skin Serum Concentrate (Passion Fruit + Orange) a try – a blend of cold-pressed virgin passion fruit and sweet orange oils along with vitamin E to help boost dull skin and revitalise the complexion.

Orange

This fruit is known for its vitamin C content, and it’s also beneficial for the skin. Mario Badescu is considered one of the skincare greats, and has an Orange Cleansing Soap in his range. This AHA-infused cleanser is suitable for combination or dry skin, and gently exfoliates while ensuring a squeaky clean finish. Burt’s Bees also have a similar product – the Orange Essence Facial Cleanser - formulated with olive oil, aloe, vegetable-based glycerine, orange oil and soap bark, to remove make-up, oil and excess oil. For dry skin, Neal’s Yard Remedies’ Honey & Orange Facial Scrub is a treat good enough to eat (but we don’t advise doing so!) This is a best seller and it’s not hard to see why – containing honey and natural neroli oil distilled from the blossom of the bitter orange tree, alongside organic rice powder to help smooth the skin and remove everyday impurities.
