Farewell roots!

Farewell roots!

With an ever-busy schedule it's hard to fit in a trip to the hairdressers for that all important root touch up. That doesn't mean you should go with the greys though as there's plenty of products designed to give the illusion of freshly dyed hair, and here we take you through the various options.

L'Oreal Magic Retouch has five shades available, meaning everyone from raven-haired stunners to blonde beauties can snap this up. You'll have to shake well before use and keep it upright when you spray it onto dry hair after you've styled it. No need to use a lot, a little goes a long way, just make sure you're around 10cm from the head to ensure even coverage.

Charles Worthington Instant Root Concealer follows the same premise, and both dry instantly for impressive results. The cans last around 30 applications so are perfect if you have a long wait until the salon.

If you're working a two-tone do or your hair just doesn't fit under one shade, there's a product right up your street. John Frieda Root Blur Colour Blending Concealer is a double compact with two colours on offer, along with a brush to combine and blend. Take Amber to Maple, for example - blend the two to match your hair, or add both separately for a mixed up finish. This lasts for up to 60 uses and can be popped into your bag to use on the go.

Hair Experts Instant Touch Up Kit Light Brown is another option which is non oily and won't leave hair stiff or sticky. Powders as a whole last for longer when it comes to usage, so a good choice for if you've forgotten to book an appointment but have a busy few months of events and work coming up.

You can take things a step further and dye your hair yourself as there's so many easy root touch up hair dyes. Take Clairol Nice n Easy Root Touch Up for example, which gets to work in 10 minutes! Blend the products as instructed in the pack and apply to the roots using the brush provided and leave for 10 minutes (15 for stubborn greys!).

Or use Alterna 2 Minute Root Touch for a quick fix, simply turn the brush to 'on' and squeeze up the liquid to apply to dry hair. Rinse and clean off the brush with warm water after so you can use again and again with ease.
