Embrace the heat: Orange lipstick
Orange isn't necessarily the most appealing colour when it comes to make-up - let's face it, when you mention 'orange' and 'skin' in the same sentence, all that comes to mind is bad fake tan.
But this hot shade shouldn't be forgotten about, even if it isn't summertime. Rather than applying the first orange-coloured beauty product you stumble upon, we take you through a good starting point: lips.
Pale skin is the perfect base for warm, peachy tones. Bright lips will really set things off against your porcelain complexion, and orange is often a colour forgotten about. Those with yellow undertones to their skin can get away with a bold, full-on orange as it will complement the warmth of your cheeks, whereas Snow White skin would benefit from a coral. A softer option in the orange family, coral has a more relaxed, easy-on-the eye finish that's perfect for beginners.
Moving onto slightly darker, golden skin tones, you're lucky enough to be able to rock neon lips. That's right, you don't have to attend a rave to make this work! It won't look as dramatic as it sounds because of your naturally bronzed look, but if you were pale and wanted to try this out, just make sure you have bronzer on!
Dark skinned stunners, we advise you to go for a red-based orange. This will make your pout perfect, and it works best paired with bronzy hues elsewhere, as make-up artist to the stars Nick Barose has previously explained. So pull out your orange blusher and get applying - the beauty of your dark skin is that any colour will work, nothing is too bright as you can build it up!
Something for everyone is sheer orange - a gloss or balm perhaps. It stands out enough against fair skin to make a statement without being over the top, while it gives a natural and flattering finish for those with deeper skin tones.
