Make-up ranges and fashion brands go hand in hand, and pairing the two together is as natural as eating strawberries with cream. It had been a little quiet on the make-up/designer front though, until American’s hottest designer Zac Posen teamed up with one of the world’s coolest cosmetics brand, MAC.

Not only does Zac for MAC sound perfect, it also looks fabulous too. The designer has added his own touch to MAC’s sleek black packaging, squaring off the usually round containers and adding a deep jade green tint. Zac’s name is embossed in gold lettering, adding even more glamour to proceedings.

The 10-piece collection launched in February, with prices starting at £16.50 ($23). Fashion fans can get their hands on a red lipstick, a six-shade eyeshadow palette and a mascara, among other items.

"We dress so many amazing, iconic women on the red carpet that I wanted to extend the glamour to a wider audience: the essentials to master a great smoky eye, a lush-coloured lip and an invisible powder which eliminates shine and makes you picture perfect at all times," he previously told Britain's Stylist magazine.

Zac isn’t the only one getting in on the action though; Lancôme has snared chic French fashion house Sonia Rykiel for a new range. Although the Autumn line isn’t available until August (16), we’re already lusting after the Parisian-inspired make-up.

Julie de Libran, Sonia Rykiel’s artistic director, has explained she sees a lot of the “joyful” Rykiel woman in Lancome, adding to WWD: “A beauty that is sometimes natural, sometimes sophisticated but never subjected to diktats.”

While not much is yet known about the collaboration, Lancome has promised it will be full of colour.
