Blissful bubble baths

Blissful bubble baths

In case you missed it, Friday (08Jan16) marked National Bubble Bath Day. But with people’s lives more hectic than ever, it’s unlikely many people marked the occasion by taking a long soak.

Seeing as we’ve just rung in 2016, we’d like to suggest a New Year’s resolution that’s easier to keep than dieting or hitting the gym: taking more bubble baths.

Science has shown getting in the tub can have all sorts of benefits, from boosting your circulation to aiding sleep and lowering blood pressure, so no matter how busy you are, try and make time for at least one a week.

"There really is a bubble bath cocktail for any occasion,” Jessica Wilby, beauty blogger at Philocalist assured Cover Media. “Bad day at work, injury at the gym or struggling to sleep; whatever your predicament, a bubble bath will save the day. For herbal healing, choose clary sage or mint. They promote the recovery of daily wear and tear by stimulating your blood flow. The heat from your bath water will also act as a gentle pain relief.

"Whilst scientific studies preach the benefits of lavender, it isn't the only essential oil recommended for relaxation. Chamomile and cedarwood have been found to have calming effects for those suffering from anxiety and struggling to sleep."

If you need some help finding the right bubble bath for you, we’ve rounded up some of our top picks for a long and luxurious soak in the tub.

Champneys

If you really want to treat yourself, look no further than Champneys. The brand’s mood-transforming bubble baths will help you recreate that spa feel at home. Champneys Cloud Nine Indulgent Bubble Heaven provides a rich soak with notes of musk and vanilla, while Heavenly Days Relaxing Bubble Heaven uses lavender and chamomile and Summer Dream Rewarding Bubble Heaven will evoke beach memories with fruits including mango and passion fruit.

Bramley

These natural bath and body products were designed by Chloë Luxton and rely on the highest quality essential oils. The sweet orange and lavender bubble bath is 100 per cent natural and not tested on animals.

Organic Surge

There are two new bubble baths on offer from this animal-friendly brand favoured by Zoë Kravitz.

The Clove, Orange & Geranium Foaming Bath contains essential oils of sensual patchouli and spicy clove-bud, which help to de-stress and revive body and mind, while natural aloe vera soothes the skin. The Lavender Meadow Foaming Bath contains essential oils of calming lavender and uplifting geranium, which help to re-balance body and mind, with natural aloe vera again soothing the skin.
