Autumn hair = caramel dream
Summer’s been and gone (sob), and as the days get shorter and oh so much colder, there’s always one thing we can look forward to; new beauty colours and trends.
One of the biggest hair trends predicted for this coming Autumn/Winter is rich caramel hair tones. Pastel sprays were fun in the summer, and we even dabbled in some glitter highlights over the festival season, but the cooler months give your hair a spruce up, with deep and rich tones.
Hair expert Scott Cornwall has come up with the perfect shade, which he calls Carmel Bronde. Scott explains it’s the ideal colour refresh for anyone with darker roots and lighter ends who wants a subtle way to make their hair more season friendly.
“With ombre or balayage colour, the lightened areas can look bleached and toneless, lacking that natural edge. The secret is camouflaging those areas with a rich, deep tonal colour,” he told Cover Media.
“For this reason I created colour Restore Caramel. It’s based on the classic 7.3 Medium Golden Blonde shade and producers a soft richness in lighter bases without the need for permanent colour. It’s perfect if you have ombre or balayage foundations as it will deepen the lightened areas and maintain that natural multi-tonal effect from roots to ends.”
Lily James, Suki Waterhouse and Blake Lively are all currently sporting varying shades of caramel, and trying the look yourself is much easier than going full blonde. The warm tones suit most colourings; from pale skin beauties to those with lovely olive complexions.
Clairol Nice N Easy’s Medium Champagne Blonde and L'Oreal Paris Casting Crème Gloss in Caramel Mochaccino are also nice takes on the trend.
