All hail the highlighter palette!
You might have heard of the term strobing, but this season highlighter is being taken to a whole new level, thanks to the fine array of palettes hitting the market. So whether a subtle strobe is your bag, or you prefer full-on twinkles, these palettes are the perfect option to finish off your look. Read on for our favourites.
A high street favourite, Revlon continues to delight fans with new offering upon new offering. Among those recently debuted is the Revlon Highlighting palette. It’s available in three different shades - Peach Glow, Bronze Glow, Rose Glow – and contains easy to blend colours so you can get a softly contoured, glowing finish. And it’s a great price as well – what’s not to love?
If you have a bit more cash to splash, look no further than Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze & Glow. Celebrity make-up artist Charlotte counts stars including Kim Kardashian among her famous clientele, so certainly knows a thing or two about how to shine at an event. Her palette comes complete with a bronzer, to contour features and keep your summer suntan going just a little longer, and a highlighter, which uses Light Flex Technology to radiate light and give a luminous complexion. It’s also suitable for any skin tone, as it has a golden base. Just go easy on the bronzer if you’re pale-skinned, as an orange look is best avoided.
While contouring is not as popular as it once was, it remains a beauty buzz word, and is done in a much more subtle way these days. If you want to sculpt your features, then look no further than NYX’s Highlight & Contour Pro Palette. Each palette includes eight customisable highlighting and contouring shades – so you can get a picture perfect finish out of one handy compact.
It’s not only the face that you can highlight though. This season’s favourite cold shoulder outfits mean you can highlight your collarbone to give a gorgeous effect, and Sleek MakeUP’s Highlighter palette in Solstice is the perfect way to get this look. It features two baked powders, one cream formula and one shimmer powder to ensure you can glow from head to toe. Of course, any highlighter can be used on the body as well as the face really, just be careful with your application brush as you want to look more model chic than disco chick!
