Conor McGregor has declared he will knock Floyd Mayweather out inside four rounds as he counts down to his professional boxing debut in Las Vegas on August 26th.

McGregor was in bullish mood as he faced his first press conference alongside Mayweather in Las Vegas, as he taunted his rival in familiar fashion in a colourful event in front of a huge crowd at Staples Center in LA.

Dubliner McGregor faced-off against Mayweather and arrogantly danced in front of him, taunted him about his reported issues with the American tax man and suggested he would prevail against all the odds in an expletive-laden press conference.

"I’m going to knock him out inside of four rounds, mark my words," declared McGregor.

"“The movement, the power, the ferociousness. He’s not experienced this. He’s fought people who have shied away fro, him. I don’t fear this limited set of fighting.

"This is a limited set of rules that makes this half a fight, a quarter of a fight. If this was a true fight, it wouldn’t even take one round. ... What can I say, I’m a young confident happy man that has worked extremely hard for this.

“The movement, the power, the ferociousness, he hasn’t seen it before. This is a limited set of rules, it makes this half a fight, a quarter of a fight. If this was a true fight, it wouldn’t take a round."

Mayweather then took to the stage to taunt McGregor, as he resumed his line promoting his wealth, despite claims he is in need of a final pay-day.

Amid insults and predictions he would win the fight in double quick time, Mayweather also praised McGregor for taking the fight.

In front of a hugely pro-McGregor crowd, the Irishman clearly won the battle of words in this first head-to-head meeting, with this media roadshow set to roll on to Canada on Wednesday.
