Alvaro Morata’s agent has been locked in talks with Real Madrid officials, as the fine details of the striker’s move to Manchester United are being finalised.

Agent Juanma Lopez has spent the last few hours at the Bernabeu, with the expectations rising that a deal may be agreed imminently that will see the Spanish striker move to Old Trafford.

Real Madrid chiefs are still believed to be pushing to secure a fee close to £70m for the 24-year-old forward, with reports in Spain suggesting the newly re-crowned European champions are ‘in no rush’ to sell a striker they are happy to keep at the club.

However, it has become clear in recent days that Morata has set his heart on a move to Manchester, with his respect for United manager Jose Mourinho and a desire to play regular first team football being cited as the key reasons why he has decided to leave his homeland.

Spanish newspaper Marca are reporting that Morata has told Real Madrid that he wants to leave in this transfer window, even though his coach Zinedine Zidane has tried to convince the forward who scored 19 times in 43 appearances last season to remain as part of his squad.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that Morata will not now complete a move to United this week, as he has already flown to Venice ahead of his wedding to fiancé Alice Campello (below) this weekend.

Reports had claimed that United were keen to wrap up the deal before the nuptials in Italy, but the couple are already believed to have left for the wedding, which would delay any plans for a medical in Manchester in the next couple of days.

United have confirmed their first signing of the summer, with Sweden defender Victor Lindelof completing his £30.7m move from Benfica after passing a medical at the club's Carrington training base on Wednesday.
