Wayne Rooney BENCHED for Man Utd as Jose Mourinho names team to face Leicester City

Jose Mourinho has benched Wayne Rooney for Manchester United's 12.30pm kick-off against Leicester City at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils line out in an expected 4-2-3-1 formation:

Luke Shaw, who misses out through injury, is replaced at left-back by Daley Blind. Chris Smalling, who captains the side, partners Eric Bailly in central defence.

Paul Pogba begins in what should be a two-man midfield alongside Ander Herrera, with Michael Carrick only managing a spot on the bench.

Jesse Lingard returns to the side following his poor performance in the Manchester derby, replacing the injured Anthony Martial.

Golden boy Marcus Rashford should start on the left of the attacking midfield three, with Juan Mata playing through the centre:
