WATCH - Irish girl makes glittering FIFA shortlist
Irish girl Stephanie Roche will battle it out with the superstar duo of Manchester United's Robin van Persie and Real Madrid's James Rodriquez to claim the prize of FIFA's best goal of 2014.
Roche's nomination is a stunning endorsement of her sensational piece of skill, which has long since become a Youtube sensation.
Roche, 25, told Sky Sports News: "It is always a good step to see women nominated for the Puskas Award and this is obviously the first time one has been in the top three.
"I am obviously proud as a woman but I am just proud as a footballer to be recognised at this level and for FIFA to see it as a good goal."
She was up against tough competition to get into the final three for FIFA's Puskas award, which is named after Hungarian footballing icon Ferenc Puskás.
FIFA's view of her goal on their official website read like this:
When the ball came towards Peamount United forward Stephanie Roche against Wexford Youths, she had her back to goal, yet three touches later, it was in the back of the net. With her first she controlled it masterfully, before producing a dink over her marker’s head, spinning and unleashing a magnificent volley.
Her nomination is a huge boost for Irish women's soccer and you can see her fantastic effort below:
