It has been another week of rumour and counter rumour over the future of Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal - and he is losing patience with the constant speculation over his future.

Even though his side secured a passage to the FA Cup semi-finals, numerous reports suggesting Van Gaal will be replaced by Jose Mourinho or Ryan Giggs have circulated in recent days.

Those rumours are starting to become tiresome for all of us, with Van Gaal also admitting he is fed up with the daily updates on his future.

"I read only about my position in the media, not the position of other managers, and I don’t agree with that,’ he said ahead of Saturday's game against Aston Villa.

"I don’t discuss that (my future) with you. You can ask every time the same questions, what is happening with me, but I don’t discuss that. The media is writing that (I will be sacked) so it’s your problem not my problem."

Van Gaal went on to suggest comparisons between Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo are not necessary, even though the youngster has scored more goals in his first few games for United when compared to the Real Madrid superstar.

"I don’t agree with what you want to suggest. You can compare apples with pears," stated Van Gaal.

"We have to wait and see. Of course, it’s fantastic what Marcus has done until now but you can’t compare him with Ronaldo who played another position at Manchester United I believe.

"I wasn’t there because I was occupied with my club at the time, but you can’t compare."

Van Gaal went on to promote his determination to continue the development of academy players in his first team, with Rashford among his biggest success stories this season.

"It is because of our policy, then you shall have always this situation," he added of his devotion to giving United's youthful stars a first team chance.

"When you think that you need to have not too big a squad, then you let the chance open for youngsters

"Manchester United believes in youngsters, and Louis van Gaal also believes in youngsters. That was also one of the arguments why they have selected me.

"It’s not new for me that it’s happening but I’m very happy we have the ability to pick up youngsters out of the academy."
