Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has rejected reports that Morgan Schneiderlin is due at Everton to complete his medical ahead of a move to Goodison Park.

Reports emerged on Friday morning suggesting Schneiderlin is set to make a move to Everton, while Memphis Depay also continues to be linked with a move away from United.

Yet Mourinho confirmed that both players remain in his squad for now, as no acceptable offer has been received.

"Their situation is exactly the same, both of them. I will allow them to leave, the club will allow if the right offer comes. Until this moment, no," he confirmed.

Mourinho confirmed that Wayne Rooney is set to start Saturday's FA Cup third round clash against Reading at Old Trafford and there may also be a place for exiled German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger in his line-up.

"He’s selected again, so he can start, he can be on the bench, but he’s an option for us," confirmed Mourinho of Schweinsteiger.

"For many months he wasn’t an option, we made that decision. Since then, he’s been working very well and never an injury - he was ill last week, but never an injury. His body is fine, he’s training very well, he’s ready."

Mourinho also welcomed a special guest to his press conference, as he extended an invite to a charitable contributor who handed over a large sum to UNICEF to buy a watch donated by Manchester United manager.
