Video - Klopp on how close he came to joining West Ham last summer
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that West Ham were among the clubs that tried to recruit him last summer.
Klopp was a manager in demand after he left Borussia Dortmund, with West Ham one of many clubs that contacted his representatives over a possible move.
In the end, Klopp opted to enjoy the break from the game he felt he needed, with his move to Merseyside coming after Brendan Rodgers was sacked by Liverpool in October.
Ahead of Saturday's game against West Ham, the Setanta Sports clips sees Klopp speaking about his the contact he had with West Ham officials before they appointed Slaven Bilic as head coach.
He also suggested West Ham may have been a good fit for his personality, as he laughed off snipes from Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce that he was "a soft German" following a feisty clash last Wednesday.
