United to confirm signing of Mexican youngster
Manchester United will confirm the signing of Mexican youngster Hirving Lozano after this summer's Olympic Games, according to the player's father.
Lozano is a high rated 20-year-old winger who has already won international recognition at senior level with Mexico and his move to from his current club Pachuca to Old Trafford looks set to be confirmed imminently.
"It's all done," his father was reported to have told ESPN. "Just missing some details and then after the Olympics it will be official."
The move would appear to confirm that United are following their policy of recruiting the most promising young players in the world and giving them a platform to emerge as stars under the watch of new boss Jose Mourinho.
Lozano's signing would suggest that Mourinho is open to promoting youthful talent at United, despite suggestions that the former Chelsea boss may look to buy his way to success in his new post rather that look to use the club's rising stars.
Mourinho is expected to suggest he will embrace United's traditions for promoting young players when he meets the media for the first time, with his official unveiling set to take place at Old Trafford at 11am on Tuesday.
