Dwight Yorke believes Jose Mourinho could begin a massive clear out at Old Traffor, and only FOUR players in the current squad are safe from the chop.

Yorke, who was part of the Manchester United side that famously won the treble in 1999, told 888sport that he believes a massive cull of the squad could be on the way from the Special One.

In quotes carried in the Mail, Yorke says:

'There will be a few players under the microscope who aren't Manchester United players who somehow got in there.

'They've underperformed and no-one is safe apart from De Gea, Martial, Rashford and Rooney. Everyone in between will be looking over their shoulders.'

One obvious player who could be on the way is Juan Mata, who Mourinho deemed surplus to requirements when he was at Chelsea and Yorke believes the manager's view of the Spaniard won't have changed.

However, he also believes that Mourinho will be a success at Old Trafford and that the brand of football might be more exciting than many expect.

'Mourinho is a big personality and successful manager so was the right choice,' says Yorke. 'People may say about his boring style and how he approaches the game but that only happened at his second time around at Chelsea.

'With Duff and Robben and Lampard behind them they were quick and exciting and scored a lot of goals.'

'He will bring a lot of success and is just who Manchester United needs.'
