Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and it seems the two Manchester clubs are in a fight to secure his services.

In the past the Dortmund attacker has been linked with Arsenal but today's Star claims that United and City are both prepared to break the British transfer record for his services.

The paper claims a fee of £65m will be required to prise the Gabon international away from Germany and Dortmund will be reluctant to sell after already losing Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan this summer.

Aubameyang, 26, is contracted with Dortmund until 2020 after signing a new deal last summer but with both Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho keen to make a splash in their first season in Manchester, big-money moves by the blue and red halves of the city are to be expected.

It was reported earlier this year that Dortmund have not put a buyout clause in that new deal so it will take a massive bid to pull off the transfer coup.

Real Madrid are also rumoured to be interested in the reigning African Footballer of the Year.
