Two clubs ready to do battle for Liverpool star
Liverpool have been very active in the transfer window and it seems Jurgen Klopp may have a number of suitors for another player on the fringe of his squad.
The German has let the likes of Jordan Ibe, Joe Allen and Jerome Sinclair go to other Premier League teams and now two clubs are set to do battle for Christian Benteke's signature.
The big Belgian has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield since Klopp arrived, and both Sunderland and cross-city rivals Everton are reported to be interested, according to the Mirror.
David Moyes is anxious to beef up Sunderland's striking options and he sees Benteke as an ideal option for that.
However, Everton may need to replace their star man Romelu Lukaku and are looking at his international team-mate as the man to fill that role.
Brendan Rodgers splashed £32.5m on the striker to bring him from Aston Villa last summer and Liverpool are determined to recoup most of that cash, with a price tag of £30m reported.
Crystal Palace were rumoured to be interested in Benteke earlier in the window but they were unwilling to meet that fee.
