Theo Walcott denies rift with boss Wenger
Arsenal's Theo Walcott has taken to Twitter to reject reports of a fall-out with manager Arsene Wenger and has denied he has opened talks over a new contract with the north London club.
The 26-year-old England international is out of contract at the end of the 2015-16 season and speculation has already begun over his future.
Walcott in January 2013 signed a three-and-a-half-year deal, six months prior to the end of his existing agreement, ending talk of a departure from the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer.
He admits talks are still to begin on a new contract and after nine months out with a knee injury, he insisted focus is on performing for the Gunners as they bid to secure a place in the top four of the Premier League in these Twitter messages.
I don't normally comment on false stories about myself but reports about contract demands & bust-ups with the boss are complete nonsense...— Theo Walcott (@theowalcott) March 26, 2015
There have been no contract talks as yet and my current focus is not on contracts but on doing my best for Arsenal FC.— Theo Walcott (@theowalcott) March 26, 2015
