The best Twitter reaction as rumours of Ryan Giggs' Manchester United departure grow
Reports suggest that Ryan Giggs could end his 29-year association with Manchester United, and Twitter has reacted accordingly – in equal parts reverence and humour.
Ryan Giggs' time at Old Trafford could be about to end.
The Welshman has had a combined playing and coaching career at the club spanning four decades.
Now, Giggs could sever ties with the only club he's ever known, according to Sky Sports News.
The 42-year-old is reportedly unhappy with the United board's choice not to give him the top job, a situation further exacerbated by the fact that Jose Mourinho intends to appoint trusted lieutenant Rui Faria as his number two.
Reports suggest that Mourinho and Giggs will not be working together at Old Trafford
It seems as though Giggs may explore different managerial options rather than become part of the Portuguese's backroom staff, a role which the former Chelsea boss is reportedly prepared to offer the man who was second-in-command to Louis van Gaal.
Giggs' current situation, then, is said to look like this:
Ryan Giggs not been contacted by @ManUtd re future. Still on hols. Still has contract as assistant manager.— Simon Stone (@sistoney67) June 2, 2016
The Twitter reaction to Giggs' possible departure varied from huge praise:
To being seen as a good idea:
I'm pleased that Ryan Giggs is leaving Man United. A playing legend for sure, but his sense of entitlement is the last thing Utd need.— Liam Canning (@OffsideLiam) June 1, 2016
To the mick being well and truly taken:

The United legend has been linked with a series of clubs since Louis van Gaal's sacking, most recently the Southampton manager's job should reports of Ronald Koeman's departure from his post at St Mary's become a reality.
