Steven Gerrard toasts Liverpool's famous win at Chelsea
Steven Gerrard led the toasts for Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson as his screaming shot at Stamford Bridge secured a famous victory against Chelsea on Friday night.
Former Liverpool captain Gerrard was cheering on his former club from his Los Angeles base, as he joined Reds fans in celebrating Henderson’s 36th minute curler flew past Blues keeper Thibaut Courtois.
Gerrard posted his picture on his Instagram page, confirming he was relaxing while looking in on a fixture that produced some of his more cherished and miserable memories during his enduring career with Liverpool.
Gerrard followed that up with a second message to hail the victory, as Liverpool’s encouraging start to the season had its finest moment yet:
Gerrard is not the only Liverpool fanatic getting excited by a start to the season that has seen Liverpool notch wins against Arsenal, Leicester and Chelsea, with the manner of those victories confirming Jurgen Klopp’s team are showing signs of gelling in what is likely to be an open Premier League title race.
