Spurs target Real Madrid ace as Spanish giants need to trim squad

According to reports today the European champs need to reduce the size of their squad and that may be very good news for Tottenham fans.

The Mirror report that Zinedine Zidane is likely to let one of Isco or James Rodriguez leave before the end of the transfer window on Wednesday.

However, Madrid head honcho Florentino Perez is a big fan of the Colombian and is said to have prevented the attacker from joining Chelsea earlier this summer.

That means that Isco is set to be shipped out and that may spark a move by Mauricio Pochettino.

The Mirror reckons the Spurs boss will make a bid to sign the Spanish international on loan for the season with the hope of making the move permanent next summer.

The paper does suggest that Chelsea may make a move for the player too but they emphasise that Spurs are in the driving seat.
