Southampton have insisted they will not sell Manchester United target Sadio Mane, but fresh reports claim the Senegal striker will do all he can to secure a big-money move this month.

Mane's omission from the Southampton side for their game at Norwich last Saturday after he failed to report for a pre-match team meeting fuelled rumours that he may be agitating for a move in this transfer window.

Yet ESPN sources revealed on Monday that Southampton would not alter their stance on refusing to sell Mane in this transfer window, despite the indiscretion that infuriated his manager Ronald Koeman.

Now fresh reports are suggesting Mane has told Southampton that he will not sign a new contract with the club, which may force the club to consider offers for their 23-year-old forward.

Southampton are still infuriated by United's suggestions that they were interested in signing Mane last summer, with no offer or contact over the player forthcoming despite media leaks.

Now United are believed to be weighing up a £30m bid for Mane in the coming days, which will fall well short of the huge valuation Southampton have placed on their star man.

Koeman suggested he "wouldn't sell Mane for £100m" last month, but United may test that theory with an offer for the player over the course of the next few days.

The Daily Mirror are also reporting that Chelsea and Bayern Munich are joining the race to try and sign Mane, who would be eligible to play in the Champions League for either club next month.
