Today’s football rumours focus on the managerial situation at Manchester United, with Mauricio Pochettino linked to the job while it is rumoured that Renato Sanches will only join the Red Devils if Jose Mourinho is made boss.

The Sun is reporting that Manchester United have spoken to the representatives of Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino about taking over from Louis van Gaal in the Old Trafford hot-seat.

The paper also says 18-year-old Benfica starlet Renato Sanches, who's agent reportedly said a move to United was a 'done deal', will join the club in the summer – if Jose Mourinho is appointed as mananger.

Chelsea have been told to turn their attention away from Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri as they search for a replacement for Mourinho, according to the Evening Standard.

Real Madrid forward Jese Rodriguez is a top target for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp when the transfer window reopens in July, the Daily Express claims.

Galacticos star Cristiano Ronaldo has ruled out any talk of a switch back to Manchester United by revealing plans to stay with the Madrid club for another two years, says the Daily Mail.

United are also keeping a close eye on Borussia Monchengladbach’s Mahmoud Dahoud, who is also wanted by fierce rivals Manchester City, according to the Express.

Reports suggest that Everton could be nearing a takeover by American investors.

Premier League leaders Leicester are ready to give new deals to goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and defender Danny Simpson, says The Sun.

West Brom are in talks with Craig Dawson, Gareth McAuley, Jonas Olsson, James Morrison and Stephane Sessegnon over new contracts, reports the Daily Telegraph.

And finally, Calciomercato.com is reporting that Mario Balotelli is set to return to Liverpool, with AC Milan electing not to sign him permanently at the end of his loan spell.
