Roy Keane has jokingly said that he 'made' Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Republic of Ireland assistant was jokingly responding to the comments made by the Real Madrid star last week when he claimed that being shouted at by the Cork man at Manchester United training really helped him as a young player.

When asked about the comment today, a deadpan Keane joked: "I made him... only for me he wouldn't be where he is.

"Different players have different traits... who you shout out, who you don't. I didn't shout at Ronaldo that much... I didn't have to."
