Revealed: The real reason Liverpool fielded a team of youngsters against Bournemouth

The reason for Liverpool fielding a host of youngsters against Bournemouth yesterday has been revealed - and no, it’s not the Merseyside derby.

It turns out that most of the first-teamers were too busy making a cringeworthy video where they attempt to give impressions of lines from famous movies.

Jurgen Klopp also features in the video. To be fair to the German, he's one of the few who covers himself in glory.

The manager's moviestar ability meant he could make the trip to the South Coast, while several first-teamers must have had to remain on Merseyside for take after cringey take.

It also seems whoever was tasked with co-ordinating the video hasn't actually watched The Dark Knight.

On that note, Simon Mignolet's impression of the Joker was just a little too serious for our liking.

Divock Origi's schoolgirl giggles are also quite amusing - though he might not make it to the silver screen - while top marks go to Mamadou Sakho for really embracing his Jaws role.

James Milner superbly slams his 'boring' doubters by putting on a passable Forrest Gump accent – the same can't be said for deadpan fellow Englishmen Jordan Henderson and Jon Flanagan.

Meanwhile, it turns out that it's not just a football that Philippe Coutinho can charm.

Note to all: DO NOT KIDNAP SAKHO'S DAUGHTER (or any relation, for that matter).
