Report - Spurs slap hefty price tag on midfielder wanted by Man United
According to reports in the UK media Tottenham Hotspur have put a large price tag on Manchester United target Eric Dier.
The Telegraph is reporting that Jose Mourinho sees the England international as the long-term replacement for Michael Carrick, who himself made the journey from White Hart Lane to Old Trafford in 2006.
The Telegraph report that the price tag slapped on the 23-year-old by Spurs supremo Daniel Levy is higher than the Red Devils wish to spend on the flexible Dier, who can play in a number of roles across midfield or at the back.
Dier signed a new deal at Spurs last year, but Manchester United would be able to at least double his £70,000-a-week wages.
