Jose Mourinho is reported to have told NINE Manchester United players they are not part of his plans and that they are free to leave Old Trafford.

The stunning report has appeared in the Daily Mail, and top of the list of those told to pack their bags is big name signing Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The German international was brought to the club by former boss Louis van Gaal but the former Bayern man was one of nine players told by the Special One that he did not see a use for them at the club.

All nine trained with the U21s rather the first team today and while some will be loaned out in the hope they continue to develop before returning to the club, others are to be put on the market.

Youngsters like Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Tim Fosu-Mensah, Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett, who all rose to prominence under Van Gaal, are on the list as are Andreas Pereira, Will Keane and James Wilson.

Pereira and Wilson are reported to have been told they have a future at the club but they will be put up for loan this season.

Apart from Schweinsteiger, Adnan Januzaj is the other most established player who is not in Mourinho's plans, according to the report.

Schweinsteiger still has two years left on his huge £160k-a-week deal so United will surely try and off load him to another club while it is expected that a host of clubs will be willing to take the talented young players on loan.
