According to reports in Germany, Mesut Ozil has two requirements before he will put pen to paper on a contract extension with Arsenal.

Bild are reporting that the fan favourite, currently in negotiations to extend his current deal, has two stipulations.

The first is that he is given the Number 10 shirt, which is still in the possession of on-loan midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Depending on how Wilshere gets on at Bournemouth, that one may be easily solved.

However, the second could be far more tricky for the Gunners.

The German tabloid says that he also wants a guarantee that the Londoners will bring in world-class players in upcoming transfer windows so they can push for trophies.

Under Arsene Wenger Arsenal have been careful with their cash but he has splashed big money on quality stars such as Alexis Sanchez and Ozil, while Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi arrived this summer.

If Ozil does not come to a deal, Bild say he is anxious to return to former club Real Madrid.

However, it has been reported that Ozil is happy at Arsenal and that will surely help the club persuade him to extend his stay beyond his current deal, which runs to 2018.
