Report - Arsenal and Spurs set to do battle for Real Madrid star

SoccerBy Sunday World

Reports today in Spain suggest that north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are set to duke it out to sign a Real Madrid star.

The Star carry reports from Diario Madridista that say if the La Liga giants decide to let Isco leave, the two Premier League clubs will fight for his signature.

Isco's current deal runs out in the summer of 2018 so it is believed Real may try and sell him on over the next two windows rather than retain his services.

The 24-year old has only started one league game for Madrid this season and he revealed last week that the club had yet to talk to him about a new deal.

Reports today suggest the European champions are trying to secure the services of star men Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale first but the lack of a new deal makes Isco's future uncertain.

What is clear is that a number of clubs would want him.

Over the summer it was strongly suggested that Spurs would take him on loan this ahead of a possible permanent deal but that never came to pass.

However, if Isco does become available Mauricio Pochettino and Arsene Wenger are sure to try for his services according to the paper, who also suggest that Manchester City and Malaga would pitch for his signature.
