Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has insisted he will NOT sanction any sale of Gareth Bale any time soon, in comments that appear to be a blow to Manchester United's hopes of landing the Welshman.

With United goalkeeper David De Gea being strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, there has been growing speculation that a deal that could see Bale move to Old Trafford could be struck.

The Welsh wizard who cost Real Madrid £86m when they signed him from Tottenham in the summer of 2013 has come under fire for some of his performances in Spain this season, but Perez has moved to banish the notion that he could be sold any time soon.

"We have not received an offer from Manchester or any other club for Gareth Bale," Perez told Spanish newspaper Marca.

"Just as I can't imagine Real Madrid without Cristiano Ronaldo, I can't imagine Real without Bale either.

"Every club knows that Gareth Bale will never leave Real Madrid and that the club will not discuss their star, no matter how much is offered.

"Bale is a key player. He has already done so much for the team and is a key part of our club's future."

There were defiant comments from Perez as he was directly asked about United's interest in Bale, who was the subject of a huge bid from the Old Trafford club in the days before he sealed his dream move to Spain.

Bale has insisted he is willing to fight on and win over the boo-boys in Spain, but you suspect this story has a few more twists and turns in it yet so long as Real Madrid continue to be linked with a move for De Gea.
