Premier League star chased by police after coming off injured
Enner Valencia is alleged to have faked an injury during an international game in Ecuador to dodge cops who want to speak to him over a large unpaid maintenance bill for his ex wife.
Footage of the incredible scene was posted online by journalists at the game between Ecuador and Chile in Quito.
Valencia, who is on loan at Everton from West Ham, set up one of the goals for Antonio Valencia in a convincing 3-0 win for the home side but it was the bizarre incident in the 82nd minute of game that has grabbed global headlines.
Police in his home country want to speak to the 26-year old over unpaid maintenance to his ex wife, said to total almost €15,000.
After reportedly dodging the police on the way into the game, police were pitchside to speak to the attacker after the game.
However, he went down with an injury with just eight minutes to go in the clash and was stretchered off.
This resulted in chaotic scenes as police chased the player as he was brought to a waiting ambulance.

However, despite the authorities catching up to the emergency vehicle, Valencia left the stadium in the ambulance and police failed to speak to him.

It appears that the matter is, for now, resolved with the Mirror reporting that the player's lawyer, Juan Carlos Carmigniani, has agreed a deal to void the court order.
