Countdown to the Premier League kick-off is now underway

The Premier League fixtures have been announced and here are the key dates that will see the game's big hitters go head to head.

Most of these games will be moved for live television screening, but these are the initial dates that can be put into your diary:

Manchester City v Chelsea - August 15th

The second weekend of the Premier League season will throw up a showdown between the top two from the campaign that finished last month. Both may well settle for a draw in this clash.

Manchester v Liverpool - September 12th

One of the marquee games of any Premier League season comes early in the campaign, with United`s third home game of the season coming against their oldest foes.

Chelsea v Arsenal - September 19th

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has suffered miserable trips to Stamford Bridge in recent years and he will get a chance to change that script - and get a first win over Jose Mourinho - early in the new season.

Arsenal v Manchester United - October 3rd

United won at Emirates Stadium last season and if Arsene Wenger's men are to prove they are the real deal in next season's title race, they will need to reverse that score line.

Manchester United v Manchester City - October 24th

The Manchester derby has taken on increased significance in recent season as both clubs have been involved in the title race. How significant will this latest clash prove to be?

Manchester United v Chelsea - December 28th

This should be a festive cracker at Old Trafford, with the hectic Christmas programme offering up a game that will test the title hopes of both clubs.

Liverpool v Manchester City - March 1st

This fixture at Anfield has been crucial in title challenges over the last couple of seasons and it will be a game City dare not lose next time around.

Manchester City v Manchester United - March 19th

This clash comes late enough in the season for it to be hugely significant if both clubs are in the mix for the title. Home advantage could be crucial for City.

Chelsea v Manchester City - April 16th

Could this be the title decider? With just four games to play after this, it very much looks like a game that could be pivotal in the destination of the biggest prize of them all.

Manchester City v Arsenal - May 7th

If Arsenal are still in the title race heading into the final two weeks of this season, this will be the match that could decide their fate. They won at the Etihad Stadium last season.
