Manchester United fans have delivered another resounding vote of no confidence in manager Louis van Gaal - even though the Dutchman did his best to suggest his crisis was over after Monday's 0-0 draw with Chelsea.

United turned in an improved display against Chelsea, but their latest goal less stalemate does not appear to have swung the tide of opinion back in Van Gaal's favour.

The debate over what should happen next at United has been raging for a few weeks now, with United's exit from the Champions League and struggle to stay in touch with the team's at the top of the Premier League sparking alarm bells for all at Old Trafford.

Van Gaal had hinted he might quit as United boss, but he seems determined to fight on amid persistent rumours that his old friend Jose Mourinho is keen to replace him at Old Trafford.

We asked United fans whether Van Gaal should be allowed to stay or if change was needed and it is clear that the latter of those two options is favoured by the majority.

Yet this poll suggests the reservations about hiring Mourinho remain, with a majority of United fans hoping there may be some way of enticing Pep Guardiola to Old Trafford when he leaves Bayern Munich next summer.
