Philippe Coutinho ‘happy at Liverpool’ according to agent
There are a lot of rumours linking the Brazilian with a move away from Anfield but his agent says the 23-year-old is happy at the club.
Kia Joorabchian was on Brazilian TV channel Globo and he was asked about rumours in Spain linking the Liverpool playmaker with a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid.
Joorabchian was very clear about his player's future.
“Philippe is extremely happy at Liverpool. He signed a new long-term contract towards the end of last season that represents his ambition and his feeling for Liverpool,” he told Globo.
“Reports that I have been talking to Real Madrid about Philippe are not true. His aspirations are to qualify for the Champions League with Liverpool this season and to win a trophy. That is all that he is focused on – and nothing else.”
With Jurgen Klopp set to be unveiled as the new Liverpool boss later this week, hopes are high that the German can get Liverpool into the all important top four by season's end.
Failure to do so would surely see some players consider their future at the club but it seems that Coutinho, arguably the most important player at Liverpool, plans to stay for the long haul.
