Paris Saint-Germain eye up £45m Di Maria move
Paris Saint-Germain are set to launch a summer bid to sign Manchester United's Angel Di Maria, but the deal they are proposing may not meet with the approval of Old Trafford officials.
United paid Real Madrid £59.7m to sign Di Maria last summer and while they insist they are not expecting the Argentine star to leave the club this summer, PSG have made it clear that they are eager to bring him to the French capital.
PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi suggested earlier this week that Di Maria may already be at his club were it not for the restrictions imposed by UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules, with the French side's interest in their chief transfer target now to be revived.
Reports in France claim PSG will offer United around €£45m for Di Maria this summer, which would represent a near £15m loss for United on their club record signing.
It remains to be seen whether United want to sell Di Maria or if the winger is ready to leave Old Trafford after a troubled first season in English football, which has seen him struggle to settle off the pitch and fail to perform at his best on it.
Despite his problems, Di Maria remains one of United's most productive players, with 10 assists to his credit leaving him in second place behind Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas in that statistic for this Premier League season.
