Newcastle and Norwich sent packing as Sunderland complete great escape
Newcastle's relegation from the Barclays Premier League was confirmed after north-east rivals Sunderland beat Everton 3-0.
The Magpies were consigned to the Championship, along with Norwich, thanks to Lamine Kone's double after Patrick van Aanholt's opener for Sam Allardyce's side.
City were also condemned to the drop despite a 4-2 victory over Watford.

Thank you for your immense support, we're proud of you & our team's performance tonight.
Newcastle will be left to rue a toothless display against rock-bottom Aston Villa at the weekend.
They could only manage a 0-0 draw against a side who had lost their previous 11 matches, whereas a win would have taken the survival battle to the final day.
