Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is counting down the matches until his side are crowned as Premier League champions.

Mourinho's Chelsea play Stoke in the evening game on Saturday, with his players likely to be reminded how close they are to claiming the crown as kings of English football.

"We need six wins and a draw, for us the situation is the one the other clubs would like to be in," stated Mourinho.

"It's pure mathematics. We need to win six games and draw one, but we have not done it yet.

"I'm not thinking about how or when, just that we need to win six, draw one and every victory is one less that we need and one less for opponents to reach us."

Meanwhile, Mourinho heaped praise on his striker Diego Costa, who is pushing to be fit for the Stoke game after he pulled out of Spain's internationals in recent days with an injury.

"He dedicated himself, there were no days off, he worked morning and afternoon, we did all the scans to confirm scientifically that he is all right," added Mourinho.

"The muscle is fine, but you need the confidence to play with intensity and be free to express yourself at maximum intensity. That's our doubt, but he will be selected for sure.

"Costa trained yesterday and today, he's not injured, I don't know if I'll start him or not. I need to make a decision."
