'More European cups than Arsenal' - Twitter reacts to Mark Clattenburg's cup final tattoos
Pictures emerged this morning of tattoos that Mark Clattenburg has apparently had inked into his own skin.
Mark Clattenburg is an excellent referee but he may fancy himself as something more.
The 41-year-old has attracted ridicule on social media today after these pictures, from a Spanish tattoo artist, went viral:
The reaction on Twitter could be gauged somewhere between incredulity and hilarity:
Always the modest man, now whenever you get carded by Clattenburg, you get to see a tattoo of the Champions League. pic.twitter.com/cH8YpMk72d— Coral (@Coral) August 3, 2016

Maybe Mark Clattenburg should get MUG tattooed across his forehead as well after the absolute disaster refereeing during the FA Cup final 🤔— jodie (@jodiealgar) August 3, 2016

Mark Clattenburg's got more European Cups than Arsenal.— 2kNicksteen (@Vondopoulos) August 3, 2016
Clattenburg did indeed referee both finals but is this really necessary? (The answer is no.)
It will be interesting to see how the Premier League feels about the free advertising UEFA will get everytime Clattz issues a yellow card this season?
Expect the short sleeves to be out in force for the referee in 2016/17, even in the depths of winter.
