Mario Götze eyed up by United, Chelsea and Arsenal
Mario Götze is being linked with a move to Manchester United, Chelsea or Arsenal after a fall-out with coach Pep Guardiola looks set to bring down the curtain on his time at Bayern Munich.
The striker who scored Germany's iconic winning goal in the World Cup final in Brazil last summer struggled to make his mark at Bayern last season and his agent stirred the pot ahead of a possible summer move with these comments.
"Guardiola has destroyed Götze. He feels like the coach doesn't have faith in him and yet still he is asked to be decisive when he gets on the pitch," agent Volker Struth told Bild .
"I'm surprised that Guardiola didn't use Götze in important matches like the German Cup and Champions League semi-finals. He only plays in the easy games.
"I wonder why no one at the club has realised that and defended Mario. Bayern need a figure like former president Uli Hoeness again."
They were words that were clearly designed to hasten Götze's move away from Bayern and reports in Germany on Tuesday suggest a move to England is most likely for the 23-year-old forward.
Bayern would want a hefty fee for the striker as they paid Borussia Dortmund €37m to sign Götze in the summer of 2013, with the lack of classy strikers available this summer meaning his value on the open market could be high.
