Man Utd's Memphis Depay hits out at 'toilet roll' report

Manchester United midfielder Memphis Depay has poked fun at an English newspaper for their report on his recent shopping trip - which appeared to involve the purchase of a lot of toilet rolls.

The Daily Mail reported that Memphis was 'spotted leaving Booths in Cheshire with bottled water, even some Capri Sun orange juice, and that most vital of commodities... loo roll.'

It was breaking news that Memphis clearly felt was not worthy of a report, as he posted this message on his Twitter account.

Memphis boasts a following of 758,000 on his Twitter account, yet his popularity off the pitch has not translated into success on it with United following his move from PSV Eindhoven last summer.

However, is still clearly very popular at his former club, with the warn reception he received as he returned to PSV last weekend confirmed:
